Hi Mateus,

I can think of 2 potential issues, security and upgrades. 

If a user modified the php.ini file then newer versions of the php cart will need a complex upgrade procedure to ensure that user changes are not broken.
I think Jhon or Mrunal can expand on similar issues in the past.
