No; if it is a non-scalable app, it will be deployed in a single gear on one node. If it is scalable, then however many gears compose the app will be deployed individually, on different nodes as much as possible. So, two framework gears and one DB gear = 3 gears on three node hosts. 4 Framework gears and 1 DB gear = 5 gears, one node host would get two.

HA apps is a work in progress.

No; we don't really have shared storage yet. Use the DB.
