This error is coming from SSH.  More background on this can be found here:
http://www.snailbook.com/faq/sftp-corruption.auto.html

It seems like it could be related to the shell environment that
ansible is using on the remote host.  If it send output to the shell
it can break the scp / sftp process that launches the shell.  If you
ssh in to that host what output do you see?
